Christmas 2006 1st Photo Dump

I'll give credit to my mom for these pictures. I've downloaded ours, but haven't saved or had time to blog them. Now that I'm at work an dinbetween patients, I have a spare moment.

Office Holiday Party

This past Thursday, my office closed early for our holiday party. Although, I don't work on Thursday's Calia and I headed in to partake in the festivities... Amy brought Ben, Andrew brought Eli, so Calia had both of her men to play with, and a whole new group of adults to entertain.
hey boys...I'm over here
Hey Ben, can I touch your face?
No, oh well.
And when I put the ears on like this, I look like a reindeer.

But, I want it!

Calia has discovered her little temper and is mastering the fine art of whining when she doesn't get a.) what she wants, b.) what she wants fast enough, or c.) mommy leaves a room. Too bad Kevin and I walk away and let her whine. WE still have control....

Love those LIPS

These are a few of my favorite things...

Elmo and Books
One of Calia's remotes
(She has 2 of our old ones)
One of the many ornaments she has made at daycare.
Her new baby that Great Grammie and Grampa Jack gave her for Christmas

Santa arrives at Toddle Inn

All smiles at Santa
Walking up to get her present.
Not too interested in sitting on the lap today.
An Elmo/Cookie Monster ball that giggles and shakes! Cool!
Carrying her new toy around.

Today, Santa made his appearance at Toddle Inn. I figured when he entered Room 7, he'd be met with screams and tears (of fright, not delight). Room 7 (Calia's room) has children age 16 months (Calia is the youngest) to almost 2 (once they are 2 they go to the next room). I got there early and watched Calia play in the room for a bit, unknown to her. She is so sweet, just sitting reading her book, playing with her friend Thea (also 16 months). Since Calia has moved to this big kid room, she's come home with lots of "friend" inflicted scrapes and bruises. My mom and I saw one of her little "friends" in action today....hitting Calia on the head, taking her toys, not being a very nice girl. Calia just looked at her, then got up and moved away. I heard the little girls name and sure enough it was the same one who had pushed Calia on her first day in Room 7 leaving her with a cut under her chin. I'm not so sure Santa will be visting this "friends" house.

Tis the season to be jolly...

Same ornament, different day.
Opening presents with the Rice Family
Upside down Bubba
This past Saturday, we made the trip down to South Berwick to have an early Holiday celebration with the Rice Family. Unfortunately, my cousin Lori was ill, so her family including 3 little girls age 2 1/2 to 6 years weren't able to make it. Making Calia the only child and therefore center of attention. Her favorite part of the day was taking the name tags off presents and handing those out.
We headed from there to our friends Ben, Laura and Ella's for their holiday open house. I've never seen so many kids under 2 in my life! There was probably 10 couples there with at least one child per family. Most ranging in the 9-20 months age group. Calia had a ball, but was quite tired and a bit cranky, so we made our visit a short one. The majority of the children present will all go to Falmouth schools some day.

Fun with Kitty

Where are you kitty?
There you are. I want to teach you new tricks.
This is how you clap. Can you clap?

Let me just poke you with this little finger, it won't hurt!

Distress after kitty scratched her hand, then took off.

Lesson Over!

Santa!! I know him!

Dancing to Christmas Music
Santa???And I want a kitty, no wait, I got that already...
Ummmm, I want a kitchen set. Fruit?? Plastic Fruit?? But, that little girl got Dora!

Also, this past Saturday we went to the Portland Police Department Kids Christmas Party. Calia did well, considering the party started at nap time. She danced with other kids, found interest in the CD player, and wasn't scared of Santa. The best part was watching her watch the other kids open their presents. If I was something she liked, she'd go over and try to sit on it. When she opened her big container of plastic fruit/veggies/etc, she looked at the little girl next to her opening a Dora doll, then looked up at me like "really mom?" Too cute. Needless to say, within 2 mintues of getting in the car, Miss Bubba was out like a light. 'Tis the season!

Chop, chop.

On Sunday, we headed to Cumberland to Vinings to chop down our Christmas Tree. We started going to Vinings when we bought our house so this was the 3rd annual trip. Calia was ready for lunch and nap (she had spent the night at Papa and Yiayia's house and we picked her up at their church), so she was prime...

Cookie Swap

This past Saturday was a busy day! In the morning, Calia and I went to my cousin Katie's house for a cookie swap. Most of the Greek females in my family were present and I went home with 10 different 1/2 dozen sweet treats (Kevin was psyched!) Here are some of the pictures...

Apparently, only boys look at the camera!

Ray is pulling on her pig-tail, I'd say she's not to happy.

Happy Hour

Calia and her lime
Dancin' with Grampa
This past Friday night, we met my dad and some of his friends out for a pre-holiday happy hour at Thatchers. Calia was her usual entertaining self...chowing on french fries, pasta salad, and chicken, and sucking on limes. Then when the band that was to start playing later that night was warming up, Calia enjoyed dancing during the sound check. If Calia at age 16 months is any indication, we have a party girl on our hands! Wonder where she gets that???
