Dinner Picnic at MacWorth
Last night was just to nice to eat dinner at home, so we headed out to MacWorth Island with a dinner picnic. Coda played in the water, while we ate our dinner on our neat sheet. It's always cool at our house being close to the coast, but it was 10 degrees cooler right on the water. There as a little Pug who kept trying to join our family fun. Kevin and I keep saying we need to do more things like this, it just seems like there is always something else to do. I think now that Calia is almost one and we see how quickly the year has past, maybe we'll be more likely to do these little things that mean so much.

Wheel of Fortune
Last Saturday night, while Kevin was off hiking and I was cleaning up after dinner, Calia was in the living room and got quiet...a dead sign (usually) that she has gotten into something. I checked in and found her watching wheel of fortune in awe. It was adorable, everytime someone got a letter and they would all clap, so did Calia. She laughed at the wheel when it spun and watched in amazement as Vanna lit up the letters. This may be better than Baby Einstein!
My Little Monkey
You can't tell, but her bath towel is a monkey. I didn't know monkeys growled? Bubba is 100% monkey, climbs over/under everything like a monkey, grabs at everything like a monkey. I laugh and think of the BNL song that says..."haven't you always wanted a monkey?" YES!

Tonight we went to the Yarmouth Clam Festival with our friends Tim, Brenda, and Lily (age 3). After eating some food, we dodged across the parade route and went toward the rides, which was great becuase everyone was watching the parade, so no lines! After watching Lilly and Tim go on the big Ferris Wheel, it was Calia's turn to ride the Merri-go-round. After the first few times around and a death grip on my arm, Calia loosened up a bit and was enjoying riding the horse up and down, while going around and all the pretty lights! She was also very interested in turning around to watch Lilly who was riding behind her. We ran into a few of Calia's day care buddies and some friends we hadn't seen in a while (Congrats Christine and Brian on your new addition in 2/07). Kevin and Coda are going hiking/camping tomorrow near Mt. Washington (NH) with some friends, so it will just be Calia and I this weekend...fun, fun.

1st trip to Old Orchard Beach
I'm on vacation this week, so yesterday Calia and I headed down to OOB to meet up with my dad on his day off. Calia liked it for a bit, but since her morning nap was cut short (20 min on the trip down), she got crabby and sleepy by 1pm. In fact, she slept from 130 when we got in the car...through getting home and transitioning to her crib...through her 430 crying bout and diaper change...then on me until 5pm. That's one tired Bubba. Thankfully, it didn't interfere with her 11-12 hour sleep at night. That girl loves her sleep...Thank God!

Actually, Calia loves going for rides with daddy. Apparently, she falls asleep before they are out of the driveway and sleeps the whole time. Poor Bubba, when they got back from their Sat am ride, she was a pool of sweat. Kevin loves it because his next ride after pulling her, he flies. With this cross training, he'll be ready for L'Alpe d'Huez in no time.

Last Saturday, we all went to watch my cousin Sam Stauble and the Gray Little League All-Stars in their playoff game in Yarmouth. We then went up to the Stauble house for visiting and swimming in the pool. Calia is such a little monkey, not very interested in walking, but boy can that girl climb onto anything. She was infatuated with little Ray's portable swing, and climbed into it over and over only to be upset that she did not fit. Poor Bubba, growing up is hard to do!

Times with Coda
One of Calia's favorite toys is Coda. She loves to climb over her, use her to help stand, play with her ears, try to pry open her mouth, use her as a pillow when tired, or play with her toes. Coda is such a great big sister. She usually just lays there and takes it, or when it gets to be too mcuh gets up and walks away, only to have Calia crawl over to where Coda has just moved. Poor dog!
Renovation complete
Kevin finished the renovation early last week...minus some touch-up painting and the lights to be hung over the sink, which will take a few minutes because the wiring is already there...my gorgeous kitchen/dining room are finished!

Welcome Little Ray
Calia has a new cousin!!! Raymond Kolbe Tucker was born Friday June 23rd to my cousin Kate and her hubby Josh (Kate and Josh are Calia's godparents, too). He was 10 days overdue!! Baby Ray weighed 6 lbs 9 oz and is a whopping 21" long, another skinny one. We went in to visit him at MMC on Saturday, Calia waved at him, but otherwise wasn't too interested... Wait until he gets home, I'm sure she'll be all over the poor little guy! Baby Ray looks a lot like his daddy and is doing great after a rough start. Our family is very blessed.
