Gorgeous Day

So, the thermometer in our back yard is reading 76... Wow, after a few days of rain, this is a very welcome change, and on my day of no less. Calia and I just went for a walk. We tried to take Coda, but she doesn't dare walk down the driveway for fear of the invisible fence. Typically, we have to back the Saab down the drive way to let her out, then drive her back across. Needless to say, that was a bit too much for me to do today alone, so Coda sat on the farmer's porch crying. I even tried to walk across the lawn to the opposite side to see if she would leave, but no. Oh well, Calia and I had fun. These are the before and after pictures.

The renovation starts now...

Yesterday, Kevin and I started packing up our kithcen for the upcoming renovation. I could tell he was dying to start, so I asked if he'd like to remove the built in cabinet between the kitchen and dining room...prompty Kevin started banging and within 30 mintues our house looked completely different. Amazing how open it became...

New Friend!

Our friends Ben and Laura have welcomed a sweet little girl to their family...Ella Hope Metivier was born 4/23/06 weighing in at 7 lbs 4 oz and 20 in. Ben and Laura live up the road from us and we are so happy for them and their new bundle of joy!

This past weekend we went to New York for the baptism of Abigail and Declan (Kevin's sister Shelly's twins). Abby and Declan are 2 weeks younger than Calia and were 4 lbs 2 oz and 3 lbs 6 oz respectively, although you'd never know it now. Calia had a great time visiting with her cousins, and was very well behaved. It will be fun to watch these 3 little ones grow up together. Jeremy (our 6 1/2 year old nephew) was a great help with the babies, always geting them toys and cheering them up when they seems on the brink of a breakdown.

Kevin's new obsession

Well...the riding lawn mower got delivered yesterday and Kevin is in love. He spent all his time on it last night, and is out on it now...supposedly, it will enable him to mow the lawn faster, but I think it will take just as long because he likes to ride along. Boys and their toys!

8 months old....

Bubbalicious is 8 months old and her first tooth has a friend. Yup, tooth 2 poked it's little crown up through some point between church and her nap this morning. You can see both when she opens her mouth just right, but I think she is sick of us looking that she now purses her lips shut. Tricky little Bubba.

Ok, so while I was typing the above Kevin started screaming from the living room. Upon running in to see what was happening, I found Kevin holding Calia arms length away....Calia was smiling, Kevin was almost in tears. Apparently, she had a blow out (3rd in 2 days, teething is great!) while sitting on his lap. He states "I heard her poop, then next thing I knew it shot up her back and all over me." Once I wiped away the tears of laughter, I got little miss cleaned up, and now poor Kevin has PTSD (post-traumatic stress disorder). When all was said and done his statement was "we should've taken a picture for Rick, he loves poop." Classic.

Exhausted Bubba

Last night, Calia was playing on her mat, rolling, etc....then Kevin and I looked into the living room to find her resting on her hands, off her mat. Guess she had a long day and was taking a time out.

So, for the past few day Calia has been rubbing her gums with her tongue. I kept feeling and would sadly tell her "nope, nothing yet." Apparently, she felt/knew something I didn't. Tonight before dinner, I did the night time check and was shocked to find a tooth sticking a good 3 mm out of her bottom right center gum!! I started schreeching, Bubba started laughing, and Coda ran from the room (Kevin wasn't home from Boston yet)! The bottom left center isn't far behind. Besides the tounge action and excessive drool, you would've never known she was teething...she is in such a good mood. Happy days! I guess this is my belated b-day gift!

hello Coda

Coda hates the digital camera, typically when we turn it on, she runs away. But, this morning I was able to get a picture of the girls, sitting together. Calia has mastered sitting, and is now able to multitask and remain in a seated position, she has now added the "roll and turn" as a way to make her self mobile. It is a combo of rolling and pivoting on her back or front to change directions. She has also taken a renewed interest in the classic crawl. Guess with turning 8 months in a week, she has gotten motivated...Oh no!!

First time in the hot tub!!

On Tuesday night, we went over to visit my mom and Ben who had just returned from 10 days in Florida. After the requisite Calia ohhs and ahhs, we decided to take Calia in the hot tub for the first time. She loved it. This picture was when we first put her in. In no time she was splashing and had soaked her self from head to toe. She did a little back stroke and more splashing. After a good 15-20 minutes of water play, we took her out. I think down the road we will have some meltdowns around getting out of "papa's pool." Or her excessive splashing will ban her from the tub becuase she made quite the mess getting water all over the place!
